Chania Estate is a family-owned farm in Kenya managed by the Harries family for several generations. This lot comes from the French Mission variety, a Bourbon family variety introduced to East Africa by French missionaries from plants brought from Reunion Island. It is characterized by its large trees, good productivity, and generous bean size. The harvest is done manually, and the coffee is processed on the farm itself. Chania combines tradition, varietal diversity, and a growing commitment to more sustainable agricultural practices. Today, it is one of the last medium-sized coffee farms still active in Kenya.
